July 2009

Ghost Mice & Heathers

An early July greetings to you, dear readers and a heartfelt thank you to Ghost Mice, Heathers, and Audrea for the fantastic show! Naturally, we'd love to have you play again any time you'd like. And thank you to all who came to enjoy the music. Do stop in again soon for some free coffee and zines or volunteer to do a workshop or cover a shift. If you'd like to teach something, get thinking about it and come to an umbrella meeting (Tuesdays at 4:30pm) before August so we can get it on that month's schedule.

We're happy to announce that the July calendar is finished and you can pick up a copy by the zines. While you're out and about, think about what you'd like to read this summer because July first marks the CCC's summer Book-It kick off. Stay tuned for more info because its rumored that there will be pizza for those who do their readin'.

Annual Volunteer Day/Pancake Breakfast

thanks to Nomadrhizome for the photo. comment if you want it taken down>

Have you ever thought about hanging out regularly at the Cream City Collectives, learning more about how things run, and improving the free shop/infoshop/screen printing collective/art gallery/show booking/(future)computer lab/kitchen/ or garden?

The time is now to share ideas and learn to be a CCC volunteer - it's easy! The Cream City Collectives is looking for some inspired folks to donate just two hours per week as a general volunteer or toward one of the above projects. We could use help in virtually any area and have projects that can fit a variety of schedules and skill levels.

If you've thought about it...

Please come out this SUNDAY the 21st of June, at 1PM to talk about your ideas and learn how to be a volunteer. Don't worry if you can't commit now - come anyway if you'd like to help out anytime in the future.

The CCC is all volunteer run and we rely on you(us) to keep it exciting and relevant. Please join us Sunday!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also this Sunday, the June Pancake Breakfast returns in full force. Come out from 10-1pm on the 21st for cheap, all-you-can-eat pancakes and free coffee. Why not treat Dad to an affordable breakfast?
May Day Block Party!
MAY DAY 2009
This May Day, Friday May 1st, the Cream City Collectives and Milwaukee Network for Social Change will be hosting a block party at the CCC (Clarke & Fratney) that will begin at 4pm.
There will be a really really free market (where everything is free!) and musical performances, as well as other fun and games.
Music by: Dead Friends, Half Gorilla, Froseph, Versus the West, Dead Issue, and more.
Before the block party, some friends from Winona are coming to do a presentation/discussion on anti-authoritarian organizing with our neighbors. The aim of the discussion is to identify ways that we can work with neighbors in Milwaukee who don't call themselves anti-authoritarian and ways that we can build momentum with neighbors around the Midwest who do. Starts at 2 o'clock.
New Shirts!
T-0001 -Dark Grey/Large
[Sold!]
Greetings! So here's how it goes. Our shirts are one of a kind - in part because there's something original and authentic about that, and in part because making exact duplicates is tedious and boring. Even so, if you really like a design after its gone, contact us and we'll see what we can do. If you like a design in the size its shown, click add to cart and check out. We're still working out shipping costs so sorry for any hassle to you first purchasers but we should have this all smoothed out and streamlined soon. Until then, take care and happy shopping!
**All shirts are 100% new and have been washed once to set the inks***
